Fund Controller

Job Description

Our client is a European private equity investment firm who focus on sustainable investments. They seek an experienced Fund Controller for their small Luxembourg office.
The Financial Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (Luxembourg office) and is responsible for the accounting of the underlying investment structures of the funds including SPV’s and GP’s. You will have oversight of the external service provider and take ultimate responsibility for accurate and timely accounting up to the preparation of financial statements.

Our client is based near the German border. They have a small, flat structure and this role will appeal to you if you are looking for a stable, yet interesting client-side role. In addition to the day-to-day accounting you will work closely with the various teams as they onboard new funds and be exposed to a wide variety of fund activity. The role:
• Responsible for daily and monthly accounting.
• Preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Proactive management of the service provider to ensure timely delivery.
• Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts with variance analyses.
• Managing cash flows and accounts payable.
• Preparing corporate tax and VAT returns and maintaining relevant contact with the Luxembourg tax authorities and tax advisors.
• Ensure that all fund vehicles remain tax and legally compliant and that adequate controls are in place.
• Oversee the year-end audit process in co-operation with the auditors.
• Point of contact for auditors, tax advisors and stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of working in a similar financial control role within a service provider or alternative funds asset manager.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken. Fluency in either German or French advantageous.
• LUX GAAP essential. IFRS advantageous.
• Experience in reviewing direct and indirect tax calculations.
• Good organizational and deadline management skills.
• Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
