Our client is a leading investment banking based in the heart of Luxembourg. The local presence is approximately 100 people. The CFO seeks an Accounting Manager to join their Internal Finance Department. The bank offers excellent career prospects in a stimulating and pleasant international working environment.
This role would be attractive to you if you are looking to incorporate your accounting and finance reporting knowledge, and be the subject matter expert in aspects of financial reporting requirements and the impact on the bank.
You will get to work with treasury; loan department; corporate teams; sales; private banking and trade finance divisions in a collaborative, business-friendly manner giving you excellent well-rounded knowledge of investment banking. The bank is agile, and has an ethos of continual improvement, so you will see your impact and be rewarded as you lead projects (automate/streamline the regulatory reporting function and improve the risk control framework for example).
In this role, some of your responsibilities will include:
• Responsible for financial regulatory reporting as per CSSF and BCL requirements
• Responsible for the general accounting of the bank under the leadership of the CFO, along with a team of 5-6 people
• Prepare short form report in Lux GAAP and reconcile to IFRS
• Responsibility for statutory filings (IFRS)
• Derivative and hedge accounting
• Prepare year-end accounting procedures and work closely with the auditors
• Be an active member of the External Audit Compliance Team
