Senior Finance Manager, Banking
Job Description
We are pleased to support a large bank, with their office conveniently located in Luxembourg City centre, that is looking to hire the no.2 to the CFO. The office has a friendly and supportive culture, the business invests across Europe, it is very stable and growing steadily.
You will report to the Chief Financial Officer, working closely with him in a leadership capacity.
There is a positive working atmosphere within in the Finance Team; you will coach, supervise and share knowledge with colleagues. There are opportunities to improve procedures and lead projects.
This role will give you the opportunity to get exposure to the full finance spectrum, working in a broad finance & accounting function. You will learn and develop yourself by working with an internationally experienced and highly skilled Chief Financial Officer.

Located in the City centre offers a wide selection of restaurants and shops to enjoy, as opposed to the often sterile environment of working in a business park.
Some key responsibilities include:
• Lead the accounting and financial controlling functions within the bank
• Drive cost control, forecasting and product control
• In a ‘product control’ capacity, review P&L reports, pick up anomalies and investigate accordingly
• Lead finance related projects; including organisational restructuring, procedurals enhancements and system upgrades
• Act as a sounding board to the CFO with financial related issues and work in partnership on financial plans
• Develop product control activities for capital markets and take charge of hedge accounting
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
• Finance related degree (ag ACCA) is preferred
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in an accounting capacity working for banks in Luxembourg
• Strong experience working in Luxembourg GAAP and IFRS
• Knowledge of derivatives and hedge accounting is considered a plus
• Have an excellent work ethic and be prepared to roll up your sleeves where required!
• Fluency in English essential
