Director of Compliance - AIFM
We are delighted to be working with a leading asset manager in the alternative investments sector. Their office in Luxembourg seeks a Director of Compliance to lead the Luxembourg Compliance function with a view of becoming the Conducting Officer for Compliance (or starting immediately as the Conducting Officer).
This is an opportunity to join an international, successful and growing business, where your ability to communicate effectively within the business is key. Knowledge of real estate, private equity or infrastructure investment strategies is strongly preferred.
Supported by a local compliance professional and acting as part of a broader European compliance team, you will have real autonomy to further shape the compliance function for the company, manage reporting and control processes whilst bringing added value to the business through a compliance culture.
Summary of Responsibilities:
• Act as the RC of the AIFM and other investment structures
• Provide advice and guidance to the Conducting Officers and the Board of Directors
• Oversee the compliance monitoring program
• Implement rules, processes and procedures to ensure a strong compliance culture
• Be the point of contact for the regulator
• Develop and maintain company compliance policies
• Provide the Board with guidance on regulatory change and impact assessments
• Implement new regulations into the company
• Assess compliance risks and potential consequences
• Provide compliance related reporting functions, to the Board and the CSSF
Candidate Requirements
• Prior Luxembourg experience is a non-negotiable essential, and a proven stable career history
• Exceptional candidates who are not yet CO approved but who have extensive relevant compliance experience in Luxembourg will be preferred
• Those already Conducting Officers for Compliance are also considered
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a compliance role
• Solid understanding of a variety of Alternative investments including 1 or more of real estate, private equity, and / or infrastructure
• Excellent regulatory knowledge of the Luxembourg funds environment
• Fluent English (business working level) with another European language being a plus
• Proactive, able to prioritise, detail orientated, good team player, rigorous
