Our well-regarded & dynamic Alternative Investment firm client, is looking to add a Legal & Compliance Associate to its expanding Luxembourg office.
This is a new role due to the strategic importance of Luxembourg to the business. It is ideal for a lawyer currently working in regulatory compliance or the fund steam of a law firm, who is looking to move into compliance in-house.
The successful candidate will have a legal background in Luxembourg. You will have the opportunity to broaden your existing local and international regulatory and compliance knowledge, but will already have strong knowledge across AIFMD, CSSF 18/698, AML/CTF regulations, sustainable finance directive, etc.
In this position, amongst other responsibilities, you will:
• Communicate all Luxembourg legislation and regulations internally, ensuring a compliance culture throughout the organisation
• Work closely with the Luxembourg Head of Compliance on the firm’s regulatory obligations to ensure the business meets its requirements
• Act as the point of contact for senior level questions relating to these obligations
• Carry out compliance tests and improve controls
• Provide regulatory advice to internal stakeholders
• Assist with product development and co-ordinate with the funds team on fund launches
• Ensure all the necessary regulatory filings are accurate and completed on time
• Ensure that all compliance processes and procedures comply to the firm’s global model
• Stay abreast of all Luxembourg and EU regulatory changes and ensure awareness of change
• Provide ad-hoc support as and when required
Candidate Requirements
In order to qualify for this position, you will:
• Hold a degree in Law, CCDL, bar exam, and likely have worked in a Luxembourg law firm.
• Ideally have 4+ years, in the legal, compliance or regulatory field within a law firm or AIFM
• Have experience working and improving processes and controls across a compliance function
• A strong understanding of CSSF rules and regulations as well a knowledge of AIFMD
• Speak fluent English, written and oral
• Be personable, efficient and dynamic, thriving on a range of varied demands
